Message From The Supervisor
(From the 2009 newsletter)

I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for the opportunity of serving Bristol and Ontario County for the last twelve years.

During my tenure, there certainly have been "bumps" in the road, but challenges have been addressed and successes have been realized. This in "large measure" is due to the dedication of the public servants I work with on a daily basis.

As a former teacher, one would think that I had retired from learning - not so! In the process of serving you, I have continued to learn, and thru you I have learned two overriding lessons. First, although it does not provide an immediate solution or resolution to a problem, the democratic process works. Finally inter-municipal cooperation has made the impossible possible. Road construction, the district's public water line, recreational programs, and so many more projects would not exist or be greatly modified.

Although I will be leaving office, Bristol will remain my home, and if called upon, I will serve in other capacities.

-Wayne Houseman

Just another Election?"
(From the 2009 newsletter)

This year we will be voting in a so called "off year" election, inferring that it is less important than other elections. We should not assume that to be true. Other communities, in the not to distant past, had come to realize that. Locally newly elected officials have had tremendous impact, both positively and negatively.

Your vote and involvement is important to maintain the integrity and responsiveness of your local officials.

The local candidates are:

SUPERVISOR:
Robert Green, Jr. - County Road 32, Republican Party

HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT:
Steven Kepner - Elm Tree Road, Republican Party
William Clark - Route 64, Better Roads for Bristol Party
Richard Tillack - East Hollow Road, Road to Better Government Party
Ronald Witson - Footer Road, Independent Party

TOWN CLERK:
Sharon Miller - Jones Road, Republican Party

COUNCILPERSONS: (Two vacancies)
Alden Favro - Baptist Hill Road, Republican Party
Thomas Stevens - County Road 32, Republican Party

Vote Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at the Bristol Town Hall
