WOLCDC Micro Loan Program (From the 2009 newsletter)
The Western Ontarion County Local Community Development Corporation (WOLCDC) has loan funds available for small businesses in the communities of the Town of Bristol and the Town of West Bloomfield as well as the Village of Bloomfield. These are no interest loans.
The loan fund is designed to assist existing businesses or provide support to new, start-up businesses within the service area. The loan funds can be used for a variety of purposes including: equipment purchases, building or facade improvements, marketing and printing expenses, and a variety of other business expenses,
The loan amounts can be as low as $1000 up to a maximum of $4000. The loans are no interest but the applicant pays 5 points (5%) when the loan is approved. The repayment period is for a maximum of 2 years. As an example, a $4000 loan would have a monthly payment of $166.66 for 24 months.
The application process is streamlined and a decision on the loan is generally made within 2-3 weeks after an application is received. The review and approval of the loans is handled by a five-person WOLCDC Loan Committee, which is comprised of members from the local community.
Ther has been a wide range of businesses that have taken advantage of this program, including an auto repair and body shop, a landscaping business, a machine shop, and a commercial campground, among others.
Interested business owners should contact WOLCDC Director, David Keefe at (585) 657-7966 or bt email at: info@grcc.us
